Day 24, 4/17/09

Deut 8- All of Israel is commanded to appreciate everything the Lord has done.

Deut 9- Israel is reminded that their gaining of the promised land is from grace.

Deut 10- Moses retells the story of making the second set of stone tablets.

Deut 11- Moses again explains the different likely results between obeying and disobeying God.

Deut 12- Moses again covers various laws regarding proper worship of the Lord God.

Deut 13- Moses clearly warns Israel never to serve other Gods (using several examples).

Deut 14- Moses gives some instruction on tithing and on clean and unclean foods.

Day 23, 4/16/09

Deut 1- Moses retells the story of events leading up to Israel's wilderness wandering.

Deut 2- Israel peacefully passes through several lands but then defeats Hesbon's king Sihon.

Deut 3- King Og of Basham also defeated. Moses is forbidden promised land entry.

Deut 4- Moses instructs all of Israel on the importance of following God's law.

Deut 5- Moses recounts Israel's hearing of the ten commandments directly via God's voice.

Deut 6- Moses explains that the greatest command is to love/fear God deeply.

Deut 7- Moses explains how Israel should behave in it's role as God's chosen.

Day 22, 4/15/09

Num 29- Offerings are described for the feasts of trumpets, atonement and of booths.

Num 30- Moses explains the difference between vows made by a man or woman.

Num 31- On Gods command, Israel decimates the Midianites. The prophet Balaam is killed.

Num 32- The people of Reuben and Gad are given inheritance land in Gilead.

Num 33- A stage by stage description of the Exodus of the Israelite people.

Num 34- God speaks to Moses and gives him a promised land boundary description.

Num 35- Cities are given to the Levite tribe. Cities of refuge are explained.

Num 36- God explains how inheritance works for female heirs. (Land doesn't change tribes.)

Numbers Overall- Two censuses of Israel taken. Israel travels from Sinai to promised land.

Day 21, 4/14/09

Num 22- Balak asks Balaam to curse Israel. God uses donkey to rebuke Balaam.

Num 23- Balaam blesses Israel on two separate occasions as opposed to cursing them.

Num 24- Balaam again blesses Israel and then prophesies Israels dominion over the area.

Num 25- Many Israelites anger God by worshiping Baal. God kills many in plague.

Num 26- After the plague, God commands Moses to take a census of Israel.

Num 27- Daughters of Zelophehad promised their inheritance. Joshua is commissioned to succeed Moses.

Num 28- God speaks to Moses and instructs him on laws regarding various offerings.
