Day 74, 6/7/09

2 Kings 22- Josiah reigns over Judah when priest Hilkiah finds the of Book of Law.

2 Kings 23- Josiah reforms Judah to honor God. Josiah dies. Jehoiakim eventually rules Judah.

2 Kings 24- Nebuchadnezzer takes captive all but the poorest of Jerusalem. King Zedekiah rebels.

2 Kings 25- Nebuchadnezzer again sacks Jerusalem. Judah exiled to Babylon. Judah's king eventually released.

2 Kings Overall- The continued story of God's faithfulness and Israel/Judah's disobedience (plus repercussions).

Day 72, 6/5/09

2 Kings 15- Azariah/Jotham rule Judah. Meanwhile Zechariah / Shallum/ Menahem/ Pekahiah/ Pekah rule Israel.

2 Kings 16- Israel and Syria war against Judah and Assyria. Judah's king Ahaz dies.

2 Kings 17- Israel falls due to it's idolatry, sin and disobedience. Assyria resettles Samaria.

2 Kings 18- Hezekiah reigns over Judah and is then attacked by Sennacherib (Assyrian king).

2 Kings 19- Hezekiah asks God for help in prayer. Angel strikes down 185,000 Assyrians.

2 Kings 20- Hezekiah is prophesied to die. Hezekiah prays to live. Hezekiah allowed life.

2 Kings 21- Manasseh reigns over Judah and does great evil in the Lord's eyes.

2 King 8- The Shunammite woman's land is given back. Syrian king Ben Hadad is murdered.

2 Kings 9- Jehu becomes Israel's King and kills Jezebel (who is eaten by dogs).

2 Kings 10- Jehu pleases God by killing Ahab's descendents and Baal's prophets. Jehu dies.

2 Kings 11- Athaliah saves Joash (future king of Judah) and is later struck down.

2 Kings 12- Jehoash reigns for 40 years in Jerusalem and pleases God. Joash dies.

2 Kings 13- Jehoahaz and Jehoash reign in Israel. Prophet Elisha dies. Syrian king dies.

2 Kings 14- Amaziah, king of Judah, pleases God. Jeroboam II, Israelite king, angers God.

Day 62, 5/25/09

2 Kings 1- Elijah delivers God's rebuke to Ahaziah's deathbed after calling down heavenly fire.

2 Kings 2- Elisha succeeds Elijah after the latter is taken to heaven via a whirlwind.

2 Kings 3- King Mesha of Moab is defeated by Israel after an attempted attack.

2 Kings 4- Through God, Elisha creates wealth, cures barrenness, raises dead and purifies poison.

2 Kings 5- Naaman of Syria is cured of leprosy. Gehazi is punished for greed.

2 Kings 6- Elisha makes iron float and is protected by heavenly horses and chariots.

2 Kings 7- Syrians are found to have fled after hearing Gods heavenly chariots/horses.

Day 61, 5/24/09

1 Kings 22- Micaiah disagrees with false prophets and correctly predicts the death of Ahab.

1 Kings Overall- Covers periods from David's death through Solomon's reign to Jehoshaphat's/Ahab's death.

Day 60, 5/23/09

1 Kings 15- Asa follows Abijam's reign over Judah. Baasha follows Nadab's reign over Israel.

1 Kings 16- Ahab follows; Omri follows; Zimri follows; Elah follows; Baasha's reign over Israel.

1 Kings 17- God feeds Elijah via a raven and widow. Elijah raises widow's son.

1 Kings 18- Elijah confronts Ahab then defeats priests of Baal in burning wood contest.

1 Kings 19- Elijah flees from Jezebel. God tells Elijah to anoint Elisha a prophet.

1 Kings 20- Ahab of Israel defeats Ben-Hadad of Syria (twice!) Ahab wrongly releases Ben-Hadad.

1 Kings 21- Jezebel kills Naboth for his vineyard. God rebukes Ahab. Ahab is repentant.

Day 59, 5/22/09

1 Kings 8- The Ark is brought into the new temple and Solomon offers prayer.

1 Kings 9- After God speaks - Solomon builds ships, bequeaths cities and enslaves his neighbors.

1 Kings 10- Queen of Sheba is amazed by Solomon's great wealth and great wisdom.

1 Kings 11- Jeroboam promised Israelite kingdom after Solomon turned to foreign Gods. Solomon dies.

1 Kings 12- Rehoboam treats people harshly. The kingdom divides. Jeroboam worships two golden calves.

1 Kings 13- A prophet confronts Jeroboam but is himself killed for disobeying God's command.

1 Kings 14- While Rehoboam reigns in Judah, Jeroboam's wife learns of upcoming family hardship.

1 Kings 1- Despite Adonijah's attempts to seize power, aging David anoints Solomon as king.

1 Kings 2- David gives Solomon final instructions, dies and then Solomon's reign is established.

1 King 3- Given the opportunity for any request, Solomon asks God for great wisdom.

1 Kings 4- Judah/Israel happy under Solomon's rule. Solomon world famous for wealth/wisdom.

1 Kings 5- Solomon organizes the material and labor logistics required to build God's temple.

1 Kings 6- After seven years of construction, God's temple is created in Holy Splendor.

1 Kings 7- Solomon builds his palace in 13 years. Hiram designs the temple furnishings.

Day 50, 5/13/09

2 Sam 22- David gives praise to the Lord for delivering him from his enemies.

2 Sam 23- A list of details covering David's mighty men and his last words.

2 Sam 24- David conducts a census and later repents of his sin (and pays!)

2 Samuel Overall- Tells the story of David's reign as king over Judah and Israel.

Day 48, 5/11/09

2 Sam 15- David flees from Jerusalem after Absalom steals the hearts of Israel's men.

2 Sam 16- David is given both aid and harassment while son Absalom enters Jerusalem.

2 Sam 17- Hushai the Archite initiates a plan that allows David to escape Absalom.

2 Sam 18- David grieves after Absalom found in a tree and killed by Joab.

2 Sam 19- David returns to Jerusalem and forgives his enemies after Joab rebukes him.

2 Sam 20- Joab and Abishai serve David by helping squelch the rebellion of Sheba.

2 Sam 21- David gets to kill giants when he again wars with the Philistines.

2 Sam 11- David lusts for married Bathsheba, has her husband killed and marries her.

2 Sam 12- David rebuked by Nathan for his sin. Bathsheba gives birth to Solomon.

2 Sam 13- Absalom flees after murdering his brother Amnon for raping their sister Tamar.

2 Sam 14- Joab utilizes a "woman of Tekoa" to speak to David on Absalom's behalf.

Day 44, 5/7/09

2 Sam 1- David is informed of Saul's death, kills the lying messenger and mourns.

2 Sam 2- David is made king of Judah while Ish-Bosheth is anointed Israel's king.

2 Sam 3- Abner attempts to assist David in uniting Israel/Judah. Abner is murdered.

2 Sam 4- Ish-Bosheth, king of Israel is murdered and David orders the murderers executed.

2 Sam 5- 30 year old David made king of Israel and then defeats Philistines.

2 Sam 6- Uzzah dies/Michal shows disgust/David dances joyfully as Ark enters Jerusalem.

2 Sam 7- God promises He will establish His kingdom throne via David's future son.

Day 43, 5/6/09

1 Sam 29- Philistines send David away fearing he would turn on them in battle.

1 Sam 30- The Amalekites are defeated by David after they had plundered Negeb/Ziklag.

1 Sam 31- Philistines defeat Israel. Saul's sons killed. Saul finishes himself on own sword.

1 Samuel Overall- Documents the initial establishment of Israel's monarchy starring Samuel, Saul and David.

Day 42, 5/5/09

1 Sam 22- David builds a following while hiding. Saul kills priests of the Lord.

1 Sam 23- David saves the residents of Keilah from Philistines. Saul chases David relentlessly.

1 Sam 24- David spares Saul and merely cuts off a portion of his robe.

1 Sam 25- Wealthy Nabal dies after refusing David. David then marries Nabal's widow Abigail.

1 Sam 26- David again spares Saul's life, this time taking his spear and water.

1 Sam 27- David and his men take refuge with the Philistines under king Achish.

1 Sam 28- Saul turns to necromancy for answers and gets rebuked by deceased Samuel.

1 Sam 15- Samuel is told by the Lord that he regrets making Saul king.

1 Sam 16- Holy Spirit departs from Saul when David is anointed King by Samuel.

1 Sam 17- As Goliath closed to attack, David quickly ran out to meet him.

1 Sam 18- David and Jonathan become great friends. Saul becomes jealous, David marries Michal.

1 Sam 19- Saul overcome by harmful spirit from God and tries to spear David.

1 Sam 20- Jonathan communicates a warning to David via a system of shot arrows.

1 Sam 21- David takes holy bread from Ahimelech the priest then flees to Gath.

Day 39, 5/2/09

1 Sam 8- Israel ignores Gods warning and insists Samuel appoint a king over them.

1 Sam 9- The Lord reveals to Samuel that Saul anointed as king.

1 Sam 10- Saul is anointed with oil by Samuel and then is proclaimed king.

1 Sam 11- The Lord brings salvation to Israel after king Saul defeats the Ammonites.

1 Sam 12- Samuel commands the people to not turn aside from following the Lord.

1 Sam 13- Saul leads Israel against the Philistines but then makes an unlawful sacrifice.

1 Sam 14- Saul's son Jonathan beats the Philistines but almost dies from eating honey.

Day 37, 4/30/09

1 Sam 1- Barren Hannah prays to God for a son and Samuel is born.

1 Sam 2- Samuel grows in stature and favor with the Lord serving at Shiloh.

1 Sam 3- Samuel hears God's call, prophecies to Eli and then to all Israel.

1 Sam 4- Eli dies. Ichabod born and the Ark captured when Philistines defeat Israel.

1 Sam 5- Philistines take Ark home and feel God's rage. Returning the Ark decided.

1 Sam 6- Philistines put Ark on a cart and cows automatically pull it home.

1 Sam 7- Samuel takes command of Israel and Israel defeats Philistines in their area.

Day 36, 4/29/09

Ruth 1- Oprah departs after Naomi is widowed. Ruth vows to remain with Naomi.

Ruth 2- Ruth goes out to Boaz's field and is treated kindly by him.

Ruth 3- Ruth cleans up then lays at Boaz's feet on the threshing floor.

Ruth 4- Ruth and Boaz marry forming a link in the genealogy of David.

Ruth Overall- Ruth (Christ's ancestor) abandons her own culture in favor of Israelite Naomi.

Day 35, 4/28/09

Judges 15- Samson burns Philistine crops with 300 foxes and kills 1000 with jawbone.

Judges 16- Delilah betrays Samson. Samson prays and pulls down pillars, killing self/Philistines.

Judges 17- With no Israelite king, Micah manufactured idols but then hired Levite priest.

Judges 18- Members of the tribe of Dan take Micah's priest and household idols.

Judges 19- Girl gang-raped to prevent man's rape. Man dismembers girl to "send message".

Judges 20- Israel wars with Benjamin/Gibeah in reaction to Girl's rape and murder.

Judges 21- Benjamin tribe provided wives via slaughter at Jabesh-Gilead and kidnapping at Shiloh.

Judges Overall- Israel sets a pattern of disobedience and repentance under various national leaders.

Day 34, 4/27/09

Judges 8- Gideon pursues Zebah and Zalmunna and than defeats them. Later Gideon dies.

Judges 9- Abimelech comes to power and wrecks havoc until woman crushes his skull.

Judges 10- After Judges Toal and Jair, Israel again does evil in Lord's sight.

Judges 11- Jephthah arises to save Israel but has to slaughter daughter after vow.

Judges 12- Jephthah clashes with Ephraim. 42,000 Ephraimites slaughtered when word "Shibboleth" is mispronounced.

Judges 13- Israel again does evil in sight of God. Judge Samson is born.

Judges 14- Samson kills 30 men after his new wife reveals lion riddle answer.

Day 33, 4/26/09

Judges 1- After Joshua's death, some promised land is taken and some is not.

Judges 2- Although God honored His covenant, Israel set up a pattern of disobedience.

Judges 3- God raises up first time Judges to save disobedient (then repentant) Israel.

Judges 4- Judge Deborah (with Barak) saves Israel after the period of disobedience/repentance.

Judges 5- Deborah and Barak's song, culminating in Sisera's death via Jael's tent peg.

Judges 6- Israel again does evil and faces Midianite oppression. God calls Judge Gideon.

Judges 7- Gideon reduces his troops from 32,000 to 300 and then defeats Midian.

Josh 22- Reubenite/Gadite warriors return across the Jordan. Altar building almost brings war.

Josh 23- Joshua, aware of his pending death, charges Israel to obey the Lord.

Josh 24- Israel has covenant renewed and is warned against false Gods. Joshua dies.

Joshua Overall- Under Joshua, Israel conquers promised land and divides it between twelve tribes.

Day 30, 4/23/09

Josh 15- A detailed breakdown of exactly how the land of Judah was allotted.

Josh 16- A detailed breakdown of how Joseph's, Manasseh's and Ephraim's land was allotted.

Josh 17- Even more information on how Joseph's, Manasseh's and Ephraim's land was allotted.

Josh 18- Congregation of Israel assembles at Shiloh to allot remaining land. (Benjamin first.)

Josh 19- Tribe inheritance description's for Simeon, Zebulun, Issachar, Asher, Naphtali, Dan and Joshua.

Josh 20- Specific refuge cities are selected so accidental manslayers have a "safe zone".

Josh 8- Joshua defeats Ai via the blessing of God and exceptional combat tactics.

Josh 9- The Gibeonites, fearing the God of Israel, trick Joshua into making a treaty.

Josh 10- The sun stands still at Gibeon and all of southern Canaan falls.

Josh 11- Kings of northern Canaan join together only to be defeated by Israel.

Josh 12- Documents the list of kings defeated by Moses and also by Joshua.

Josh 13- God lists land yet unconquered. Inheritance land east of Jordan is documented.

Josh 14- The beginning breakdown of inheritance west of the Jordan starting with Caleb.

Day 28, 4/21/09

Josh 1- After Moses' death. God orders Joshua to be strong and commissions him.

Josh 2- Rahab, the prostitute from Jericho, hides the two spies sent by Joshua.

Josh 3- God causes River Jordan water to "heap" so Israel could walk across.

Josh 4- Joshua commands Israel to build a twelve stone memorial beside Jordan River.

Josh 5- Israel's uncircumcised circumcised and passover is celebrated. Joshua sees Lord's Army commander.

Josh 6- The walls of Jericho fall after seven days of marching and trumpets.

Josh 7- Israel defeated at Ai after Achan steals devoted things. Achan's household killed.

Deut 29- Moses summons all of Israel in land of Moab to renew covenant.

Deut 30- Israel is again reminded of blessings for obedience and curses for disobedience.

Deut 31- Joshua is commissioned to succeed Moses. Moses is commanded to write song.

Deut 32- Moses recites his song of history, worship and warning. Moses' death foretold.

Deut 33- Moses gives his final blessings on the Israelite people before his death.

Deut 34- Moses shown promised land from mountaintop then dies at age of 120.

Deuteronomy Overall- Deuteronomy (which means "second law") is Exodus, Leviticus, and Numbers solemnly retold.

Deut 23- More miscellaneous laws, to include "men with crushed testicles barred from assembly".

Deut 24- More miscellaneous laws, to include those covering divorce, pledges and leprous diseases.

Deut 25- More miscellaneous laws, to include those covering Levirate marriage, disputes and fighting.

Deut 26- Laws covering the offerings of firstfruits and tithes in the promised land.

Deut 27- Moses commands Israel to build altar on Mount Ebal. (Also lists curses.)

Deut 28- Moses lays out the list of blessings and curses for obedience/disobedience.

Deut 16- Instruction is given on various feasts, justice and forbidden forms of worship.

Deut 17- More laws covering forbidden forms of worship plus laws covering ruling authorities.

Deut 18- Laws given covering abominable acts, new prophets and substance for Levitical priests.

Deut 19- Laws covering cities of refuge, property boundaries, witnesses and "eye for eye".

Deut 20- Instruction given explaining how Israel should prepare and conduct itself in war.

Deut 21- Various laws covering unsolved murders, female captives, firstborn rights and rebellious sons.

Day 24, 4/17/09

Deut 8- All of Israel is commanded to appreciate everything the Lord has done.

Deut 9- Israel is reminded that their gaining of the promised land is from grace.

Deut 10- Moses retells the story of making the second set of stone tablets.

Deut 11- Moses again explains the different likely results between obeying and disobeying God.

Deut 12- Moses again covers various laws regarding proper worship of the Lord God.

Deut 13- Moses clearly warns Israel never to serve other Gods (using several examples).

Deut 14- Moses gives some instruction on tithing and on clean and unclean foods.

Day 23, 4/16/09

Deut 1- Moses retells the story of events leading up to Israel's wilderness wandering.

Deut 2- Israel peacefully passes through several lands but then defeats Hesbon's king Sihon.

Deut 3- King Og of Basham also defeated. Moses is forbidden promised land entry.

Deut 4- Moses instructs all of Israel on the importance of following God's law.

Deut 5- Moses recounts Israel's hearing of the ten commandments directly via God's voice.

Deut 6- Moses explains that the greatest command is to love/fear God deeply.

Deut 7- Moses explains how Israel should behave in it's role as God's chosen.

Day 22, 4/15/09

Num 29- Offerings are described for the feasts of trumpets, atonement and of booths.

Num 30- Moses explains the difference between vows made by a man or woman.

Num 31- On Gods command, Israel decimates the Midianites. The prophet Balaam is killed.

Num 32- The people of Reuben and Gad are given inheritance land in Gilead.

Num 33- A stage by stage description of the Exodus of the Israelite people.

Num 34- God speaks to Moses and gives him a promised land boundary description.

Num 35- Cities are given to the Levite tribe. Cities of refuge are explained.

Num 36- God explains how inheritance works for female heirs. (Land doesn't change tribes.)

Numbers Overall- Two censuses of Israel taken. Israel travels from Sinai to promised land.

Day 21, 4/14/09

Num 22- Balak asks Balaam to curse Israel. God uses donkey to rebuke Balaam.

Num 23- Balaam blesses Israel on two separate occasions as opposed to cursing them.

Num 24- Balaam again blesses Israel and then prophesies Israels dominion over the area.

Num 25- Many Israelites anger God by worshiping Baal. God kills many in plague.

Num 26- After the plague, God commands Moses to take a census of Israel.

Num 27- Daughters of Zelophehad promised their inheritance. Joshua is commissioned to succeed Moses.

Num 28- God speaks to Moses and instructs him on laws regarding various offerings.

Num 15- Man killed for picking up sticks on Sabbath. Moses receives more laws.

Num 16- The household of Korah is destroyed by God for questioning Moses' leadership.

Num 17- Of 12 staffs, only Aaron's staff sprouts buds- proving his chosen status.

Num 18- God explains to Aaron the duties and the rewards of his household.

Num 19- God explains laws regarding purification and how to sacrifice the red heifer.

Num 20- Miriam and Aaron both die. King of Edom refuses passage to Israel.

Num 21- God allows Israel to defeat various peoples. Moses creates the bronze serpent.

Day 19, 4/12/09, Easter

Num 8- God explains the cleansing of the Levites and when they should retire.

Num 9- Israel bases it's camp movements on following the movements of God's cloud.

Num 10- God explains how to make silver trumpets and the Israelites leave Sinai.

Num 11- Israel complains over a lack of meat and God provides them Quail.

Num 12- Miriam is given leprosy by God after she and Aaron oppose Moses.

Num 13- Nephilim are spotted in Canaan by Moses. Spies during 40 day reconnaissance.

Num 14- Israel assigned to wander extra 40 years in wilderness after doubting God.

Day 18, 4/11/09

Num 1- God tells Moses to take a census of adult males (except Levites).

Num 2- God speaks to Moses and tells him where different tribes should camp.

Num 3- God speaks to Moses and describes all the duties of Levi's tribes.

Num 4- God speaks to Moses and assigns specific duties for branches of Aaron.

Num 5- God describes procedures for dealing with unclean persons. Also, a test for adultery.

Num 6- God speaks to Moses and gives him laws regarding the Nazirite vow.

Num 7- A detailed account of the Israelite tribes offerings at the tabernacle's consecration.

Day 17, 4/10/09, Good Friday

Lev 22- God instructs Moses as to when Aaron's sons can approach holy things.

Lev 23- God speaks to Moses and instructs on the Sabbaths and holy feasts.

Lev 24- How to make tabernacle lamps/bread. Blasphemy punishment. Eye for eye concept.

Lev 25- God gives Moses law for Sabbath years and the year of the Jubilee.

Lev 26- Israel is told they will be blessed if obedient, punished if not.

Lev 27- God gives Moses law regarding the vow value of people/places/things.

Leviticus Overall- God instructs the Israelites, via Moses, on the details of His Law.

Lev 18- God gives Moses laws covering a wide range of unlawful sexual relations.

Lev 19- God tells Israel to be holy and to lover others as self.

Lev 20- God lays out the punishments for child sacrifice and for sexual immorality.

Lev 21- God lays out laws that priests need to follow to remain holy.

Day 15, 4/8/09

Lev 8- Aaron and his sons are consecrated as priests through burnt offering sacrifices.

Lev 9- Aaron makes an offering to God and then Aaron blesses people.

Lev 10- Nadab and Abihu are each consumed by fire after making unauthorized fire.

Lev 11- God gives the Israelites laws regarding what foods are clean and unclean.

Day 13, 4/6/09

Ex 36- Bezalel, Oholiab and the other craftsmen with skills from God, build the tabernacle.

Ex 37- The ark, table, lampstand and altar of incense are manufactured by craftsmen.

Ex 38- The altars, bronze basin and court are made. Also, tabernacle material list.

Ex 39- The priestly garments are made for Aaron and all of his sons.

Ex 40- The tabernacle and it's furnishings are all erected. Lord's glory fills tabernacle.

Exodus Overall- Via Moses, God brings Israel out of Egypt and establishes His Law.

Day 12, 4/5/09

Ex 29- Covers the process for ordination/consecration of Aaron and sons (the priests).

Ex 30- How to collect census tax, make basin, anointing oil and incense/altar.

Ex 31- God blesses specific individuals with creative gifts and gives Moses stone tablets.

Ex 32- Aaron/Israel make false god (calf). Moses descends, breaks tablets and rebukes.

Ex 33- God informs "stiff necked" Israel that current generation won't enter promised land.

Ex 34- God inscribes new tablets for Moses then renews His covenant with Israel.

Ex 35- Moses assembles Israel, takes contributions and plans logistics for the tabernacles construction.

Day 11, 4/4/09

Ex 22- More laws to create orderly society. Most on restitution and social justice.

Ex 23- More laws, these on Sabbath, feasts and justice. Canaan's conquest foretold.

Ex 24- Moses ascends Sinai to spend 40 days with God (receiving stone tablets).

Ex 25- Instructions for taking contributions and building the ark, bread table and lampstand.

Ex 26- More instruction from God, this time on how to build the tabernacle.

Ex 27- More divine instruction, now on making the altar, court and lamp oil.

Ex 28- More instruction from God, this time on the design of priest's garments.

Day 10, 4/3/09

Ex 15- Moses sings his song of praise and bitter water is made sweet.

Ex 16- Israel grumbles again. God provides manna from heavens and tests Israel's obedience.

Ex 17- Israel again grumbles and God again saves, this time = water from rock.

Ex 18- Moses reunited with in-laws, sons and wife. Jethro recommends Moses delegate leadership.

Ex 19- Israel arrives at Mount Sinai. God comes down. Moses/Aaron go up.

Ex 20- Moses given 10 Commandments = Love God With all Heart, Love your Neighbors.

Ex 21- Various laws are given to help create an orderly society for Israel.

Day 9, 4/2/09

Ex 8- Second (frogs)/ third (gnats)/ fourth (flies) plagues strike Egypt. Pharaoh detains Israel.

Ex 9- Fifth (livestock death)/ sixth (boils)/ seventh (hail) plagues strike. Pharaoh detains Israel.

Ex 10- Eighth (locusts)/ ninth (darkness) plagues strike. Israel still detained. Pharaoh threatens Moses.

Ex 11- God promises Israel's release via final plague. The death of Egypt's firstborn.

Ex 12- Pharaoh releases Israel after God's passover/all firstborns deaths. Israel's exodus begins.

Ex 13- Feast of unleavened bread instructed. God leads Israel as fire/cloud pillar.

Ex 14- Pharaoh decides to pursue Israel. Moses parts Red Sea, drowns Pharaoh's army.

Day 8, 4/1/09

Ex 1- Israelites multiply in Egypt. New Pharaoh enslaves them, orders their sons killed.

Ex 2- Moses born, raised by Pharaoh's daughter, matures, kills Egyptian- flees. Israel groans.

Ex 3- God tells Moses (via Burning Bush) to lead Israel out of Egypt.

Ex 4- God gives Moses (and Aaron) signs to show Pharaoh and the Israelites.

Ex 5- Pharaoh denies Moses request to let Israelites go. Instead, their labor increases.

Ex 6- God promises to deliver Israel from Egypt. Genealogy. Moses makes more excuses.

Ex 7- Hard hearted Pharaoh ignores miracles via Moses and refuses to release Israelites.

Day 7, 3/31/09

Gen 43- Joseph's brothers talk to Israel, return to Egypt and dine with Joseph.

Gen 44- Joseph detains Benjamin to check brother's motives. Judah offers to take Benjamin's place.

Gen 45- Joseph reveals self. Tells brothers to bring father and households to Egypt.

Gen 46- The entire house of Jacob comes into Egypt. Joseph and Jacob reunited.

Gen 47- Jacob's house settles. Famine. Pharaoh prospers from Joseph. Israel promised home burial.

Gen 48- Israel blesses his grandsons (Joseph's sons) the younger more than the older.

Gen 49- Israel blesses his 12 sons (Tribes), commands burial with fathers...and dies.

Gen 50- Joseph buries Israel with his fathers, promises brothers continued support...and dies.

Genesis Overall- God creates all. Creation falls. God covenants with Abraham/Isaac/Jacob's House.

Day 6, 3/30/09

Gen 36- Esau settles his household in Seir. Genealogy of Esau's descendants and locations.

Gen 37- Joseph, son of Jacob, dreams and is sold into slavery by brothers.

Gen 38- Judah tricked into impregnating Tamar after he doesn't give her to Shelah.

Gen 39- Joseph flourishes as slave until his masters wife betrays him. Joseph jailed.

Gen 40- In jail, Joseph interprets the dreams of Pharaoh's chief cupbearer and baker.

Gen 41- Joseph correctly interprets Pharaoh's feast/famine dreams, recommends plan, skyrockets to power.

Gen 42- Joseph "sets up" his grain-buying brothers to return with brother Benjamin.

Day 5, 3/29/09

Gen 29- Jacob marries Leah/Rachel. Serves Laban 14 years. Leah bears 3 sons.

Gen 30- Leah, Rachel and servants bear more children Jacob increases size of flock.

Gen 31- Jacob/family/flock flee from Laban. Laban catches up and makes covenant.

Gen 32- Jacob sends Esau gifts on the way home. Jacob wrestles with God.

Gen 33- Esau greets Jacob and embraces him with love. Jacob builds in Succoth.

Gen 34- Dinah is raped by Shechem. Jacob's sons kill all Shechem's family's males.

Gen 35- God again names Jacob "Israel". Rachel dies during labor. Isaac also dies.

Day 4, 3/28/09

Gen 22- Abraham commanded to sacrifice Isaac. Abraham begins. God stops Abraham. Test passed.

Gen 23- Sarah dies. Abraham purchases burial land from Ephron the Hittite. Sarah buried.

Gen 24- Abraham sends servant to take wife for Isaac. Rebekah returns with servant.

Gen 25- Abraham dies. Genealogy. Esau and Jacob born. Esau sells birthright to Jacob.

Gen 26- Isaac travels, sows, grows wealthy, travels more...and makes pact with Abimelech.

Gen 27- Rebekah/Jacob deceive Isaac to get Esau's blessing. Jacob told to flee.

Gen 28- Jacob flees to Laban. Esau marries an Ishmaelite. Jacob dreams God's promise.

Day 3, 3/27/09

Gen 16- Still barren Sari gives servant Hagar to Abram. Hagar conceives. Ishmael born.

Gen 17- Abram (Abraham) and Sari (Sarah) promised fruitful son- Isaac. Circumcision covenant begins.

Gen 18- Lord visits. Isaac's birth again promised. Sarah laughs. Abraham intercedes for Sodom.

Gen 19- Lot's family flees Sodom. Wife disobeys, becomes salt. Lot fathers daughter's children.

Gen 20- Abraham teaches Abimelech to fear God, reaps gain, heals Abimelech and family.

Gen 21- Isaac born! Hagar and Ishmael depart. Ishmael blessed. Abraham/Amimelech make treaty.

Day 2, 3/26/09

Gen 9- God establishes "No flood" covenant (with rainbow sign) with Noah and sons.

Gen 10- Genealogy of the descendants of Noah and where family lines settled geographically.

Gen 11- Scattering of people at Babel. Genealogy of Shem...then Terah (Abram's father).

Gen 12- God promises great nation from Abram. Abram, Sarai and Lot enter Egypt.

Gen 13- Abram and Lot separate fairly (Lot near Sodom). Abram promised uncountable offspring.

Gen 14- Lot and his possessions captured. Abram is notified, pursues and rescues Lot.

Gen 15- Abram reassured that we will father many. Future flight of Israel foretold.

Day 1, 3/25/09

Gen 1- God creates every thing. Man is created in His image and blessed.

Gen 2- God rests. God charges man to tend Eden. Man and woman joined.

Gen 3- Original sin. Adam and Eve are deceived, sin and cast from Eden.

Gen 4- Cain and Able born. Cain kills Able. Cain cursed. Eve bears Seth.

Gen 5- Geneology from Adam to Noah and his 3 sons (with exceptional spans!).

Gen 6- Mankind is corrupt. God is sorry. Blameless Noah called to build Ark.

Gen 7- Noah boards Ark with family and animals. 40 day storm destroys all.

Gen 8- Ark rests on Ararat while waters subside. Noah disembarks. God makes covenant.
